Program Overview

About the Program

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at HHIRS is a rigorous 5-year, 10-semester professional doctorate that prepares students to assess, diagnose, and manage movement and functional disorders across the lifespan. Blending foundational medical sciences with extensive hands-on clinical training, the program produces autonomous, evidence-based practitioners equipped to serve in hospitals, sports settings, rehabilitation centres, and independent practice. Delivered under affiliation with Khyber Medical University (KMU), the DPT meets national standards and emphasises clinical reasoning, professional ethics, and patient-centred care.

Message from the Head of Department

Dr. Jawad

Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy at HHIRS. Our DPT program is built on a simple belief — that great therapists are made through rigorous science and genuine clinical experience. From the first year, our students learn beside real patients in our own clinical services, mentored by faculty who practise what they teach. If you are passionate about restoring movement and changing lives, we invite you to begin that journey with us.

Learn Where You'll Work

Clinical Practice — Under One Roof

DPT students gain real clinical exposure early and often. Because HHIRS houses its own specialised clinical services, students complete supervised practice with genuine patients in the same building where they study — observing, assessing, and treating under the close mentorship of experienced physiotherapists across six clinical practice blocks.

A unique advantage: HHIRS students complete supervised clinical practice inside our own in-house clinical services — the same building where they study. Real patients, expert supervision, zero travel.

Research & Final-Year Thesis

Research is woven across the DPT through dedicated methodology and biostatistics coursework, culminating in a faculty-supervised research thesis in the final year. Students learn to critically appraise clinical literature, design ethical studies, analyse data, and defend original work — building the evidence-based mindset that defines modern physical therapy.

Evidence-Based Practice

Critical appraisal of clinical literature woven through every year.

Supervised Thesis

A faculty-mentored research project in the final year of study.

Research Methodology

Dedicated coursework in study design, ethics & biostatistics.
