Dr. Karamat ullah: PT
Dr. Keramat Ullah has 21 years of clinical and academic expertise. In the year 2000, he received his postgraduate medical degree from Jinnah School of Physiotherapy. He passed the Public Service Commission exam and was then appointed as the head of the physiotherapy department at the Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital, where he remained until December 2005. He relocated to Ireland and worked as a senior physiotherapist at Waterford University Hospital for six months. He was hired as a permanent senior physiotherapist at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Carrick-on-Shannon, where he worked in the outpatient department, long-term care, day care, domiciliary care, and community-based cardiac rehabilitation. In 2011, he received his M.Sc. in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy from the National University of Ireland-Galway, and in December 2013, he took an Incentivized Career Break. In the last months of 2013, he came to Pakistan and joined HHIRS as Principal/Clinical Director to start academic and clinical services in a newly constructed building. In collaboration with Riphah International University, he successfully launched a 5-year DPT program and established a physiotherapy male department, a physiotherapy female department, a neurological physiotherapy unit, an occupational therapy department, a prosthetics and orthotics department, a speech language therapy department, and a psychotherapy department. Under his guidance, a B.S. in prosthetics/orthotics and a B.S. in speech and language therapy were also launched at HHIRS. He earned his t-DPT and a postgraduate diploma in professional ethics and teaching methodology from Khyber Medical University. His rehabilitation sciences Ph.D. is almost concluded. At HHIRS, he supervised 41 indigenous research projects and co-authored 23 research publications that were published in national and international journals. He serves on the editorial boards of several national and international journals, as well as serving as a reviewer for master’s theses at Khyber Medical University and Riphah International University.
